About HailAlmanac

HailAlmanac is an independent data publisher. We turn NOAA's public hail records into a page for each city and county, so that anyone can see how often large hail has fallen nearby and when it last did.

We are not a roofing contractor, an insurer or a public adjuster, and we do not inspect roofs. Nothing on this site says that any building was damaged: the records show where people reported hail.

HailAlmanac is responsible for the site and its figures. The figures are computed by code from the files listed on the data sources page, by the method on the methodology page. No figure is estimated or generated by an AI model.

If you find an error, a correction form is on its way; until then, the methodology page explains how every figure can be checked against NOAA's own files.
